About us
I was raised in a household where natural healing was an integral part of our way of life. My mother, who aspired to live off the land, rarely relied on modern medicine and often treated my lifelong psoriasis holistically. As a 45-year-old woman, I’ve experienced fewer complications compared to many who solely rely on conventional treatments, which has further deepened my respect for nature’s healing powers.
As a parent of four, two of whom have severe eczema, I was inspired by my mother’s herbal remedies. Using the knowledge she instilled in me, I chose natural remedies over harsh medications for my children’s skin conditions. Over time, my passion for natural healing blossomed, and I began rendering tallow and infusing herbs to create balms and salves for my family and friends.
In addition to my passion for natural healing, I spent 11 years as a registered nurse before advancing to my current psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) role. This experience provided me with a scientific understanding of the body, which I combined with my knowledge of herbs and holistic medicine. This further deepened my understanding of herbs and blends, inspiring me to craft effective, nourishing, scientifically backed formulations. This led to the founding of Goldenrod Botanicals—a company that produces handcrafted, all-natural skincare made with nourishing organic ingredients to hydrate, soothe, and support sensitive skin.
